This is elegant, timeless, and one of the most versatile styles you’ll ever create.
Low buns:
Work for almost everyone
Are flattering and clean
Hold hair securely through every day to day tasks
Can be polished or textured, depending on the look
Once you nail this, you’ll feel like a real hairstylist. You’re just doing such a fab job!
Curled or waved hair (recommended for texture)
Brush
Tail comb
Hair elastics
Bobby pins
Optional: hairspray or smoothing product
Your challenge today is to create one low bridal bun with:
Smooth, polished sides
Controlled volume at the crown
Secure pinning that lasts
This is about control AND softness.
Gather hair into a low ponytail at the nape.
Twist or loop the ponytail to form a bun.
Secure with pins, keeping movement soft.
Smooth the top, but leave slight texture for natural elegance.
Step back frequently to view your work and make sure no bobby pins are hurting (we don’t want a headache later on from them) — also, balance is everything.
