One of the classics,

The Low Bun

Your Challenge:

To create a simple low bun - get creative

By now, you’ve mastered foundation, curls, texture, half-ups, braids, and soft waves.

Today, we’re putting all of that together in one classic, hairstyle staple:

The Low Bun

This is elegant, timeless, and one of the most versatile styles you’ll ever create.

Why the Low Bun Matters

Low buns:

  • Work for almost everyone

  • Are flattering and clean

  • Hold hair securely through every day to day tasks

  • Can be polished or textured, depending on the look

Once you nail this, you’ll feel like a real hairstylist. You’re just doing such a fab job!

What You’ll Need Today

  • Curled or waved hair (recommended for texture)

  • Brush

  • Tail comb

  • Hair elastics

  • Bobby pins

  • Optional: hairspray or smoothing product

Today’s Challenge

Your challenge today is to create one low bridal bun with:

  • Smooth, polished sides

  • Controlled volume at the crown

  • Secure pinning that lasts

This is about control AND softness.

How to Approach the Bun

  1. Gather hair into a low ponytail at the nape.

  2. Twist or loop the ponytail to form a bun.

  3. Secure with pins, keeping movement soft.

  4. Smooth the top, but leave slight texture for natural elegance.

Step back frequently to view your work and make sure no bobby pins are hurting (we don’t want a headache later on from them) — also, balance is everything.

What Success Looks Like Today

Success today is:

A polished low bun that looks intentional

Hair that feels secure but soft

Confidence that you could do this on someone else

If you think: “This could be on a real bride today…” You’re doing it perfect!

After You Finish

  • Take a photo from the back and side

  • Add it to your Portfolio Photo Page

  • Complete your Day 9 worksheet

  • Tick off Day 9 on your checklist

This is another style that goes straight into your growing portfolio.

A Gentle Reminder

Elegant hair doesn’t have to be complicated.

It’s about structure, intention, and finishing touches —

skills you already have and are building every day.

What’s Coming Tomorrow

Tomorrow, we’ll make a textured bun — soft, romantic, and more relaxed.

This is where creativity meets skill, and your bridal hair starts to feel signature.

I’ll see you in Day 10.

Enjoy this moment — your are creating real bridal hair now!
