The Side Sweep Glam
This style is elegant, free flowing and flattering. It’s one of my favourite ways to make a hairstyle feel sophisticated and modern, yet it’s so easy to create. When I got married, I let my bridesmaids choose what hairstyle they want and this in fact is the style they chose for the day!
I personally love it.
Side-swept styles:
Frame the face beautifully
Highlights one side of the face and creates texture on the other
Work perfectly with one shoulder dresses, wedding day veils, earrings, and hair accessories
Look amazing in photos from every angle

Waved or textured hair (from previous days)
Bobby pins
Comb
Tail comb
Optional: light hairspray or smoothing product
Your challenge today is to create one side-swept hairstyle with:
Soft volume at the crown
Hair gently draped over one shoulder or pinned to the side
Clean, polished lines mixed with soft, romantic movement
Remember: side-swept doesn’t mean stiff. Keep it soft, flowing, and wearable.
Decide which side will be swept.
Create soft volume at the crown and temples.
Gather the hair to the chosen side, leaving face-framing strands if you like.
Secure with pins, balancing softness and structure.
Adjust movement so it flows naturally over the shoulder or at the back.
Step back frequently — this is all about shape, flow and making it complimenting to your face.
