IN THIS LESSON
Today is about movement and softness
Challenge:
Curl one full side of your head only. If you want to attempt both - be my guest - but today is ideally about one single side of your hair being styled.
Welcome to Day 2!
Curls are one of the biggest confidence blocks I see in hairstyling — but today, we’re removing that fear.
By the end of this lesson, I want you to feel calm and capable when you pick up a curling iron or wand.
Before We Begin
I want to say this clearly:
Curls do not need to be perfect to be beautiful.
In fact, modern curls are meant to feel soft, lived-in, and romantic.
So release the pressure right now.
This is practice — not performance.
What You’ll Need Today
Curling iron or wand
Heat protection (if you have it)
Sectioning clips
Comb
Wide tooth comb
Your hair, a mannequin, or a model
Today’s Challenge
Your challenge today is to curl one full side of the head only.
We’re doing this intentionally.
By curling one side and leaving the other untouched, you’ll clearly see:
The difference curls make
Your progress, instantly
How curl direction and tension affect the finish
This contrast is powerful for building confidence.
Curling Basics to Focus On
As you curl, pay attention to:
The direction you wrap the hair
How tight or loose you hold the hair
Keeping sections consistent
Letting the curl cool before touching it
You’re not rushing today.
Slow, intentional movements build better results.
What Success Looks Like Today
Success today is not “perfect curls.”
Success is:
Finishing one side
Feeling more comfortable holding the tool
Not panicking if one curl drops or looks different
Every curl teaches your hands something.
After You Finish
Once your curls are complete:
Step back and look at the difference between the curled side and the natural side
Take a photo
Complete your Day 2 worksheet
Tick off Day 2 on your checklist
This is proof that your skills are already growing.
A Gentle Reminder
Every confident stylist once burned a finger, dropped a curl, or questioned themselves. The only difference? They kept going. And so are you.
What’s Coming Tomorrow
Tomorrow, we’ll take these curls and add texture and volume — the secret to making all hairstyles last and look elevated.
You’re building something beautiful, one day at a time.
See you tomorrow!
